This is a basic configuration of a router.Router f0/0
interface is connected with PC2 & f0/1 connected with PC3 using
cross cable. For all configuration I have used Cisco Packet Tracer 5.3.
PC2 Configure:
IP:192.168.10.2,
SM: 255.255.255.252,
DGW: 192.168.10.1
PC3 Configure:
IP:192.168.10.6,
SM: 255.255.255.252,
DGW: 192.168.10.5
Router Name, Password & Interface Configuration.

Router#configure terminal
Router(config)#hostname RR1 (Name configure)
RR1(config)#line console 0 (Console password configure)
RR1(config-line)#password 123
RR1(config-line)#login
RR1(config-line)#exit
RR1(config)#line vty 0 4 (Telnet password configure)
RR1(config-line)#password 123
RR1(config-line)#login
RR1(config-line)#exit
RR1(config)#enable secret 123 (Enable password configure)
RR1(config)#exit
Router(config)#service password-encryption (Password encryption)
(Interface configure)
Router(config)#interface f0/0
Router(config-if)#no shutdown
Router(config-if)#ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.252
Router(config-if)#exit
Router(config)#interface f0/1
Router(config-if)#no shutdown
Router(config-if)#ip address 192.168.10.5 255.255.255.252
Router(config-if)#exit
